Job summary
Hoare Lea is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer to deliver high‑quality, sustainable electrical design across multiple built‑environment projects in Scotland. You will join the Glasgow or Edinburgh team, contributing to a diverse project portfolio and liaising with multidisciplinary colleagues and clients.
The role offers a collaborative, hybrid work model with opportunities to mentor junior staff and advance within a leading engineering consultancy.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Building Services Engineering; industry membership preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take briefs and deliver electrical design work from inception through to completion.
- Produce calculations, drawings and technical documentation that comply with regulations, design guides and client standards.
- Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy across deliverables.
- Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines and third‑party consultants.
- Review and comment on technical information provided by contractors; check site installations against design intent.
- Attend design team meetings, client meetings and project meetings.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities and support handover documentation.
- Manage own workload to meet programme deliverables and report progress to line manager.
- Contribute to the development of junior staff and foster client relationships.
