Job summary

Imperial Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our regional operations in the UK. Based in the South West and field-based, you will support maintenance, testing and projects across our engine fleet while ensuring compliance with IEE and UK standards.

You will lead electrical fault finding, HV switching operations and control system improvements, collaborating with the Operations team to keep assets safe, reliable and compliant.

Qualifications

• Operational Electrical Engineer with significant experience.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition Electrical qualification.
• Experience with Control Systems and fault finding.
• Experience managing small electrical projects.
• VSD experience.
• Experience reading electrical schematics.
• Experience with HV, LV and ELV circuits.
• Energy and embedded power generation industry experience is advantageous.
• Full driving licence for field sites.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations team with electrical activity including troubleshooting, fault finding, maintenance and project work.
• Carry out testing, inspection and rectification on electrical equipment across the engine fleet.
• Assemble, install, test, certify and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
• Plan and carry out small projects with Operations Support.
• Install and maintain three phase and single‑phase control circuits for motors, pumps and fans.
• Carry out periodic thermography checks in line with CMMS.
• Modify electrical control panels and update drawings.
• Inspect systems to identify hazards and ensure compliance with codes of practice.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and modify PLC software and control systems.
• Manage HV switching and network management.
