J C Bamford Excavators Ltd seeks an Electrical Engineer to help develop innovative electrical systems for future JCB products, supporting electrical architectures and component selection for demanding off-highway environments.

The role covers designing high and low voltage systems, applying safety principles, and producing specifications and standards. CAD tools like Zuken E3 and Siemens NX are valued, with emphasis on collaboration and hands-on testing.

Qualifications

• Must have HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in off-highway or automotive electrical system design.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical components and harness architectures.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing high voltage electrical systems for heavy duty vehicles (12V-600V).
• Developing 12V and 24V electrical systems for standard vehicle applications.
• Using CAD tools to define vehicle electrical wiring systems (Zuken E3 and Siemens NX preferred).
• Supporting the definition and development of electrical and electronic system architecture.
• Applying safety critical design principles for offhighway electrical and electronic systems.
• Specifying electrical and electronic components for vehicle applications.
• Conducting testing and validation of electrical and electronic components and systems.
• Producing technical specifications, group standards, and engineering instructions.
• Carrying out system and installation reviews to established standards.
• Setting up and maintaining development and validation rigs.
