Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in Tier 1 or OEM environments (on-highway or off-highway).
• Experience in electrical schematic and harness design.
• At least 3 years’ hands-on CAD/harness design tools.
• HND/Degree in electronics or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of engineering quality systems and standards.
• Experience with component placement and harness routing.
• Effective communicator coordinating across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline.
• Proactive, solution-focused and capable in a complex product environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead specification, design, development, and delivery of electrical components and harness architectures across the JCB Backhoe Loader range.
• Own end-to-end delivery of wiring harness systems with cross-functional coordination.
• Develop and manage component and harness release plans aligned with milestones.
• Define and release electrical components with suppliers and manufacturing.
• Provide technical leadership for electrical architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with the India Design Centre and global teams.
• Maintain engineering records, BOMs and change documentation.
• Drive standardisation and component reuse across Backhoe Loader platforms.
• Work with Mechanical, Software, Systems, Manufacturing, Service and Validation teams to ensure integration.
• Lead problem-solving and root cause investigations (FMEA, 8D).
• Champion best practices in component selection, routing, EMC, and serviceability.
• Support validation, reliability growth and field issue resolution.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers.
