Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Manchester-area engineering team in Stockport. You will design LV and HV networks, produce technical drawings and documentation for a range of projects including BESS systems, while coordinating with clients, DNOs and suppliers.

Based in Stockport, you will work Monday to Friday with standard hours, and bring a proactive approach with strong AutoCAD and electrical calculation skills to deliver safe, compliant

Qualifications

• HND / HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering or construction.
• Strong experience using AutoCAD to produce accurate electrical drawings.
• Experience with LV and HV electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical power and distribution systems.
• Experience with electrical calculations, including cable sizing.
• Understanding LV/HV protection schemes.
• Full current UK driving licence.
• Proactive and practical approach to engineering design and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design LV and HV electrical networks.
• Produce electrical designs and accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Design power and distribution systems.
• Support DC systems for BESS projects.
• Develop LV/HV protection schemes.
• Undertake cable sizing and calculations.
• Prepare specifications for switchboards, transformers and equipment.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients, DNOs, suppliers and internal teams.
• Attend site visits to support design development and delivery.
• Assist with as-built drawings.
• Ensure designs are delivered within project timescales.
