Job summary

Ltek Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team in Manchester. The role focuses on designing LV/HV networks, power generation and distribution systems, and DC systems for BESS projects.

You will produce electrical designs and drawings, collaborate with clients and DNOs, and ensure documentation is completed accurately and on schedule. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• HND / HNC or an equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering or construction environment.
• Strong experience using AutoCAD to produce accurate electrical drawings.
• Demonstrable experience using Trimble / Amtech.
• Experience with LV and HV electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical power generation and distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Design LV and HV electrical networks.
• Produce electrical designs and accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Design power generation and distribution systems.
• Support DC systems for BESS projects.
• Develop LV/HV protection schemes.
• Undertake cable sizing and calculations.
• Prepare specifications for switchboards, transformers and related equipment.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients, DNOs, suppliers and internal teams.
• Attend site visits to support design development and project delivery.
• Support the production and updating of as-built drawings.
• Ensure designs and documentation are delivered on time.
