Job summary

Hoot Recruit LTD is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for our client, a commercial/industrial electrical contractor in Greater Manchester. Based in Irlam, you will design LV power, lighting and safety systems, producing layouts and calculations to meet BS 7671 and Building Regulations.

You will use AutoCAD and Amtech daily, support CAT A/B fit-outs, refurbishments and new installations, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate drawings and efficient site handovers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical design within commercial projects.
• Up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 wiring regulations and building regulations.
• Experience producing electrical drawings, calculations, layouts and technical documentation.
• Strong practical experience using AutoCAD and Amtech.
• Experience with Relux or DIALux lighting design software.

Responsibilities

• Design LV power distribution, small power, lighting and associated electrical safety systems.
• Produce accurate electrical layouts, schematics and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Complete electrical network calculations, cable sizing and technical assessments using Amtech.
• Develop internal and external lighting designs using Relux or DIALux.
• Design electrical systems for CAT A/B fit-outs, refurbishments and new installations.
• Liaise with project managers, estimators, engineers, clients and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Carry out site surveys and provide practical design information for installation teams.
