Job summary

Automation Experts is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical and control systems for bespoke machinery using EPLAN Electric P8, delivering complete documentation and manufacturing-ready drawings.

You will develop panel layouts in EPLAN Pro Panel as needed, specify drives and safety devices, and produce BOMs, wire schedules and reports while supporting manufacturing, testing and on-site commissioning.

Qualifications

• HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Ability to produce electrical schematics and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience with VFDs, servo systems or motion control.
• Knowledge of machine safety circuits and safety principles.
• Proven ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and control systems for bespoke machinery and automation projects using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Produce complete electrical documentation including schematics, panel layouts, terminal plans, cable schedules, BOMs and manufacturing docs.
• Develop panel layouts and 3D designs using EPLAN Pro Panel where required.
• Specify electrical hardware including control panels, drives, servo systems and safety devices.
• Design machine safety systems and validate in line with safety standards and Performance Levels.
• Produce BOMs, wire numbering, cable schedules and technical reports.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Software Engineers, Panel Builders and Commissioning Engineers.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning.
