Job summary

Options Resourcing Ltd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Building Services to join our Liverpool team. You will design and deliver electrical building services from concept through construction, collaborating with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams on diverse sectors including education, healthcare, commercial and residential.

You will contribute to feasibility studies, design calculations and specifications, ensuring compliance with Building

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in Building Services Consultancy environment.
Strong electrical design experience across building sectors.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
Experience using industry–standard electrical design and calculation software.
Good understanding of BIM Level 2 project delivery.
Knowledge of Building Regulations, Part L.
Excellent communication and client–facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads.
Working towards Chartership or Chartered would be advantageous.
Passion for sustainable and low–carbon building design.

Responsibilities

Produce electrical building services designs from concept through to construction issue.
Prepare feasibility studies, design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms and associated building services systems.
Undertake site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
Attend client, contractor and design team meetings.
Deliver projects within agreed budgets, programmes and quality standards.
Coordinate designs with mechanical, architectural and structural disciplines.
Support and mentor junior engineers where required.
Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, British Standards and industry best practices.
Contribute to design reviews, quality assurance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
