Job summary

British Gypsum, at the East Leake plaster production facility, seeks an Electrical Craftsperson (Maintenance Engineer) to maintain and improve our gypsum plant. The role is days-based, 8am–4pm, with some out-of-hours flexibility due to 24/7 operations, and offers a fantastic salary with a bonus and healthcare options.

You will join a highly skilled team focused on preventative maintenance, repairs, and some installation work, driving improvements and ensuring safe, reliable plant operation.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship; ideally qualified to HNC or NVQ3 Mechanical with relevant industrial experience.
• Experience in professional maintenance with fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Computer literacy; able to use digital maintenance tools.
• Flexible attitude to working hours and deployment essential.
• Attention to detail and persistence in problem solving.
• Experience with permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work (risk assessments and method statements).
• Experience using CMMS and contributing to maintenance planning.
• Continuous improvement mindset with Lean/WCM methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and some installation work as part of a skilled team.
• Support ongoing improvements to plant equipment.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules in a CMMS and raise work orders for issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and production operators to keep plant running optimally.
• Identify solutions through fault finding, root cause analysis and lean tool application while following safety protocols.
