Job summary

Hull City Council is seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer to design, specify, and oversee electrical building services for new builds, refurbishments and maintenance across a varied property portfolio. The role reports to the Associate Building Services Engineer and requires strong technical and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will manage planned maintenance, supervise contractors, and ensure compliance with current regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Proven background in electrical building services engineering and maintenance across diverse properties.

Responsibilities

• Lead building construction and maintenance projects from design to completion.
• Provide technical reports, drawings and project status updates for council committees.
• Project manage feasibility studies and cross‑functional projects within budget and schedule.
• Act as a technical champion for schemes and promote best practice in design and maintenance.
• Carry out CDM duties and ensure statutory compliance and safety.
• Manage budgets and contract variations to deliver best value and compliance.
