To provide a professional building technical service and be responsible for the design, specification, and project management of building construction and/ or building services installations for new build, maintenance and/ or refurbishment programmes of work. This may include taking the project lead or working as part of a larger building maintenance and design services team. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient, professional, highly experienced, and motivated individual to join our team, reporting to the Associate Building Services Engineer (Maintenance and Statutory Compliance Team). The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, delivering and reporting on planned maintenance programmes; managing specialist statutory servicing contracts and contractors; overseeing day‑to‑day reactive maintenance activities to support effective service delivery; undertaking condition surveys; providing technical advice in accordance with current legislation, regulations and industry best practice; leading on minor electrical design, refurbishment and improvement projects, including the preparation of technical specifications and oversight of works through to completion. Candidates must have a proven and extensive background in electrical building services engineering and the maintenance, inspection, testing and statutory compliance of building electrical systems, together with a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, standards and compliance requirements. Applicants must hold appropriate technical and professional qualifications and be capable of interpreting technical information to support decision‑making and ensure compliance across a diverse property portfolio. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will have demonstrable experience working across a wide range of sectors, including leisure, commercial, heritage, museum, education and housing environments, including multi‑occupancy residential properties. Experience of working with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), asset management databases, compliance management software and Microsoft Office applications would be advantageous. Experience of working within a local authority environment and managing statutory compliance across complex and varied property portfolios would also be beneficial.
