Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust's Stepping Hill Hospital is seeking a Waiting List Officer to manage elective surgery waiting lists, including a group of consultants' lists, and ensure targets are met. You will work closely with patients, relatives and clinicians, and cover other specialties when needed.

You will handle patient enquiries with confidentiality, coordinate admissions and pre-operative assessments, and act as a named contact for service users while upholding Trust policies.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English
• Experience in a patient-facing or admin environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Lead on managing the waiting list of a group of consultants, cross-covering other specialities when needed
• Monitor waiting and work lists daily to ensure targets are met
• Coordinate admission and pre-operative assessment clinics
• Act as named contact point for patients, relatives and medical representatives
• Deal with enquiries from service users in a courteous and diplomatic manner
