Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Waiting List Officer – Elective Booking & Scheduling to join Stepping Hill Hospital. You will help manage waiting lists for elective surgery and ensure adherence to Government Access targets within Trust policies.

The role involves patient contact and collaboration with Health Care Professionals. The ideal candidate will have GCSE-level education or equivalent experience, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Educated to a minimum of GCSE standard or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a patient/customer focused environment.
• Awareness of Government Access targets desirable.
• Well organised and able to work on own initiative and demonstrate confidence in independent decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead role in managing the waiting list for a group of consultants.
• Monitor waiting list and work list daily to meet Government Access Targets.
• Coordinate admission and pre-operative assessment clinics.
• Act as named contact point with patients/relatives and medical reps.
• Deal with enquiries from service users in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner.
• Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained and policies followed.
• Provide advice to patients on admission and waiting list position.
• Assist in training new staff in the department.
