Job summary

Keoghs Corporate Risk Team in Leeds is recruiting a Multi-Track File Handler to manage delegated and non-delegated multi-track EL/PL claims. The role focuses on litigated cases with potential pre-litigation work, within a busy corporate sector practice serving high-profile clients.

The candidate will handle a mixed EL/PL caseload, prepare pleadings, attend court, and strive to meet chargeable hours and WIP targets while upholding Keoghs values. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential.

• EL/PL multi-track file handling experience
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to negotiate via telephone
• Ability to prepare succinct and concise reports
• Excellent IT skills
• High level of analytical skills
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Ability to win trust and confidence of others

Responsibilities

• Building relationships with Keoghs clients and liaising with clients/insurers
• Manage a mixed caseload of EL/PL multi-track claims valued typically between £25k–£100k
• Assess liability and quantum and advise accordingly
• Devise strategies to resolve cases for best outcomes
• Utilise Case Management System to progress files from receipt to closure
• Draft pleadings including defences and witness evidence
• Attend court proceedings in person or by telephone as required
• Achieve targets for chargeable hours, WIP and client MI
