Job summary

Keoghs LLP is hiring an Intermediate / Multi Track File Handler to manage a diverse EL/PL caseload with a focus on litigation management and pre-litigation work. The role sits in the Retail Team within the Corporate Sector Risk Practice, collaborating with high-profile retail clients and supporting junior colleagues.

You will handle a mix of EL/PL cases, develop case strategies, and use the Case Management System to progress files from instruction to conclusion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) Intermediate/Multi Track claims.
• Experience supervising or supporting the development of colleagues within a legal environment.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills with ability to develop team members.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
• Proficient IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of EL and PL claims, predominantly Intermediate/Multi Track.
• Assess liability, causation, and quantum with commercially focused client advice.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members in line with firm frameworks.
• Develop and implement case strategies and gather evidence.
• Progress files using the Case Management System from instruction to conclusion.
• Draft legal documentation including Defences and witness statements.
• Attend hearings and trials in person or remotely as required.
• Meet individual and team targets for chargeable hours and WIP.
• Collaborate across the firm to deliver high-quality legal services.
