Job summary

Carpenters Group in Leeds is seeking a specialist to manage a caseload of non-litigated EL/PL employer’s liability and public liability claims, delivering high-quality legal advice and client service.

You will progress claims through the EL/PL portal and pre-litigation, assess liability, review medical evidence, liaise with experts, and maintain accurate records while supporting the team and upholding the firm’s values.

Qualifications

• Experience handling non-litigated EL/PL claims.
• Understanding of the EL/PL portal and pre-litigation processes.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in case management systems and general IT tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of non-litigated EL/PL claims through the portal and pre-action protocol stages.
• Assess liability and quantum, review medical evidence, and draft schedules of special damages.
• Provide clear, empathetic legal advice to clients and insurers with regular updates.
• Liaise with medical experts, investigators, and rehabilitation providers.
• Ensure timely progression of cases per the Pre-Action Protocol and internal SLAs.
• Maintain accurate records using case management systems and common IT tools.
• Contribute to team performance by meeting financial and productivity targets.
• Promote a positive, inclusive working culture and uphold the firm’s values.
