Job summary

Carpenters Group is recruiting a claims handler to manage a caseload of non-litigated EL/PL personal injury claims, delivering clear legal guidance and excellent client service. You will progress claims through the EL/PL portal and pre-litigation stages, liaising with medical experts and insurers, and maintaining accurate records using Solcase and MS Office.

The role requires independent working, strong communication, and the ability to meet service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience handling non-litigated EL/PL claims, ideally in a personal injury environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle a varied caseload of non-litigated EL/PL claims, primarily within the portal and pre-action protocol stages.
• Assess liability and quantum, review medical evidence, and draft schedules of special damages.
• Provide clear, empathetic legal advice to clients and insurers, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations.
• Liaise with external agencies including medical experts, investigators, and rehabilitation providers.
• Ensure timely progression of cases in line with the Pre-Action Protocol for Low Value Personal Injury Claims and internal SLAs.
• Maintain accurate records using case management systems (e.g., Solcase) and Microsoft Office tools.
• Contribute to team performance by meeting financial and productivity targets.
• Promote a positive, inclusive working culture and uphold the firm’s values.
