Job summary

William James Recruitment is seeking an EL/PL Litigation Executive to join its Manchester office, offering a hybrid working model. In this role, you will take ownership of a delegated caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, working closely with insurer clients and supported by experienced colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing litigated EL/PL cases, strong communication skills, and the ability to negotiate settlements. The position includes a competitive salary up to £35,000 and generous benefits.

• Experience with disclosure, CRU, medical evidence, and case analysis.
• Proactive, analytical, and collaborative in approach.
• Committed to delivering excellent client care and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Managing a delegated‑authority EL/PL caseload from instruction to settlement.
• Handling a mix of litigated and pre‑litigated matters.
• Drafting pleadings and legal documentation.
• Negotiating settlements with opponents.
• Supporting senior fee earners on complex matters.

Skills

Experience managing a litigated EL/PL caseload

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Confident liaising with solicitors, witnesses and external stakeholders

Highly organised

Good IT skills
