Job summary

Carpenters Group is seeking a skilled Paralegal to handle a caseload of non-litigated EL/PL personal injury claims, delivering high-quality legal advice and client service. The role emphasizes progressing claims through EL/PL portal and pre-litigation stages, with compliance to legislation and internal standards.

You will liaise with medical experts and insurers, draft schedules of damages, and maintain accurate records while meeting service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience handling non-litigated EL/PL claims, ideally in a PI environment.
• Strong understanding of the EL/PL portal and pre-litigation processes.
• Excellent client care and communication, written and verbal.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in case management systems and IT tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of non-litigated EL/PL claims, mainly portal/pre-action stages.
• Assess liability and quantum, review medical evidence, draft schedules of damages.
• Provide clear, empathetic legal advice to clients and insurers.
• Liaise with medical experts, investigators and rehabilitation providers.
• Ensure timely progression per Pre-Action Protocol for Low Value PI and SLAs.
• Maintain records using case management systems and MS Office.
• Help meet financial and productivity targets, contribute to team goals.
• Support a positive, inclusive culture and uphold firm values.
