Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists Ltd is recruiting an Egg Production Manager for a Shropshire-based operation. You will lead the laying unit, drive welfare, productivity and compliance while collaborating with senior management to deliver continuous improvements across the site.

The role requires strong knowledge of poultry husbandry and production KPIs, plus proven leadership of farm teams. A full UK driving licence and commitment to long-term service are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a commercial laying hen or free-range unit.
• Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry and bird welfare.
• Experience leading farm teams and strong communication skills.
• Good understanding of production KPIs, audits and record keeping.
• Practical approach with the ability to resolve operational/equipment issues.
• Full UK driving licence and reliability for long-term commitment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the laying unit with focus on welfare and performance.
• Monitor flock health, egg production, feed/water usage, mortality and KPIs.
• Lead and develop the farm team while maintaining safety and productivity.
• Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with Lion Code, DEFRA, APHA and Health & Safety requirements.
• Coordinate biosecurity, vaccination programmes, flock turnaround and maintenance with vet/management teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and overall farm performance.
