The role.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in qualifying tenders/enquiries to help decide whether to tender
- Reviewing tender packs/enquiries
- Collaborating with the project team, including the commercial lead and designer, to establish the project brief and requirements
- Managing timescales to meet deadlines and ensure timely receipt of information needed for pricing
- Conducting site surveys
- Developing scope of works and measured quantities from drawings and design details
- Liaising with subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotations for packages of work
- Coordinating with the delivery team to understand programme/phasing and preliminaries
- Reviewing rate schedules and benchmarks to ensure competitive project pricing
- Strategizing tender approaches and presentation methods to maximize success rates
- Submitting tenders and budgets within deadlines
- Attending client meetings and interviews
- Performing value engineering and analyzing design alternatives when applicable
- Assisting in contract sum negotiations with clients
- Preparing clear handover information for the delivery team
- Ensuring the delivery team understands project requirements and is properly briefed
Qualifications / experience:
- Project management experience
- Experience in the construction industry, specifically design and build/fit-out (advantageous)
- Previous pre-construction management experience (advantageous)
- Ability to maintain relationships with clients, customers, and suppliers
Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Full UK driving license
