Dorset Council is seeking a Finance Assistant to support early education providers and schools in financial matters. Our team is in Children’s Services and is dedicated to supporting early education providers and schools to enable Dorset children to achieve the best outcomes. Our work is finance-based, and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team.
The Early Years & Schools, Finance And Support Team is a friendly and caring team and will provide full training to the successful candidate. The work of our team covers:
The primary purpose of this role is to work with early education providers regarding financial payments and queries. The team provides a helpline to early education providers and responds promptly to queries by telephone and email. There are also detailed web pages with information for early education providers to be maintained and updated. Additionally, there will be a variety of financial and administrative tasks across all areas of work for the team.
As we support early education providers and schools, our busier times are during school hours. We ideally seek the successful candidate to work 18 hours a week over at least 3 days, including a Wednesday. Flexible working arrangements are available, and some hours could be worked from home, although at least one day a week would be office-based.
