Description: 12 month fixed term contract Finance Assistant role

Your new role

This business is looking for a Finance Administrator for a 12-month contract. Reporting to our Senior Accountant and Assistant Accountant, the role involves working closely with the Finance Assistant Team (Sales & Purchase Ledger). This position supports the effective delivery of financial accounting services and day-to-day finance operations during the design and implementation of a new Finance System, scheduled to go live in April 2026.

Key responsibilities:

This person will be responsible for Sales & Purchase ledger activities, including but not limited to:

  • Coding and VAT rates (accounting review)
  • Aged debtors/creditors review
  • Supplier & Rent statement reconciliation
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Investigating purchase & invoice queries
  • Preparing BACS payments
  • Credit card processing
  • Journal posting
  • Managing accounts in email inbox
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers
  • Purchase order processing

  • Able to start immediately
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers

  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work on own initiative
