Job description

My client is the market leading stock-holder and distributor of building products used in the construction, fabrication and manufacturing sectors. Operating since 2001, they design and supply architectural glazing systems for installation in commercial and residential buildings across NI and ROI.

They now seek an experienced Financial Controller to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who is ready to take ownership of the financial function in a thriving, private equity backed business.

As the Financial Controller, you will support the Finance Director and play a critical role in guiding the financial health and growth of the business. You’ll be responsible for managing all financial operations, providing strategic financial insights, and supporting decision-making across the business. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities: -

- Manage all accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.

- Monitor cash flow, banking and financing requirements.

- Develop financial models and provide analysis to support strategic decisions.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations.

- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and financial institutions.

- Oversee and improve internal financial controls and systems.

- Support senior management with business planning and risk management.

Essential Criteria

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

- CPA or CA qualification.

- Minimum 5 years’ PQE with experience in a similar finance or accounting role.

- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax and reporting requirements.

- Experience using accounting software SAP and Microsoft Excel (advanced).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

- High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.

Desirable - Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or product-based business. Familiarity with inventory and project costing systems.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive salary of £50,000 to £55,000 to reflect experience. Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm with a unique 4-day Alternative Week!! Annual Bonus, Pension, Private Healthcare. 30 days holiday. Smart offices are located near Lisburn.
