Job summary

Outcomes First Group's Hemlock Stone School in Nottinghamshire is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join the in-house clinical team. You will deliver bespoke SLT assessments and interventions for pupils with developmental trauma, neurodiversity, or SEMH needs, working within SaLT standards and with a supportive supervisor.

You will hold a caseload, contribute to staff training, and collaborate with education colleagues in a multidisciplinary setting to promote progress and independence

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registered and RCSLT registered.
  • Experience with complex and diverse communication profiles.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary settings.
  • Experience communicating with families and carers.
  • Interest in developing SaLT knowledge and skills.
  • Strong relationship, analytical and judgmental skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Good time management and organisational abilities.
  • Understanding of SaLT assessment tools and intervention planning.
  • Awareness of legislation and professional standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a MDT.
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications.
  • Desirable: understanding of sensory/motor differences affecting communication.
  • Desirable: understanding arousal and communication relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload with supervision.
  • Deliver bespoke SLT assessments and interventions for pupils in school.
  • Collaborate with education teams and clinical colleagues.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Engage with families and carers to support goals.
  • Engage in CPD aligned with client group needs.
