Job summary

Outcomes First Group invites applications for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at Oak Tree School (TR4 9NH). You will deliver bespoke SLT assessments and interventions to pupils, collaborating with the education team within an in‑house clinical setting.

You will hold a caseload, supported by a clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and development. The role emphasizes a person‑centred approach, safeguarding, and cross‑site collaboration within a network of

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registered or similar approved professional body registration.
  • At least 2 yrs experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting.
  • Some relevant experience with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
  • Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
  • Some experience of multi-disciplinary working.
  • Some experience of communicating with families/relatives and carers.
  • An interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice.
  • Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Competent in core SaLT areas and understanding of RCSLT Standards.
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention techniques.
  • Knowledge of legislation and professional management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in MDT.
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications.
  • Understanding of differences including sensory and motor aspects.
  • Understanding of arousal levels and communication.
  • Full driving license (Highly Desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions to pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team and MDT.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload with supervision.
