Job summary

Educato Recruitment are supporting an Alternative Provision in Rochdale with a Learning Support Assistant role. You will work to engage pupils, support their learning and personal development, and help with behavioural and attendance challenges.

No formal teaching qualification is required. This long-term agency position offers progression to a permanent contract after 12 weeks, with dedicated Educato consultant support and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Past experience in education is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience supporting SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs is helpful.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Educato Recruitment are working with a growing Alternative Provision in Rochdale who are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to help pupils who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education. No formal teaching qualification is required for this role. The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide day-to-day support to pupils, helping them to engage with their learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils during lessons and learning activities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Helping pupils to remain focused and engaged
• Supporting pupils with their academic and personal development
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
• Supporting classroom routines and maintaining clear boundaries
• Assisting with interventions and individual learning activities
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff
• Providing feedback on pupil progress, engagement and behavior
• Supporting safeguarding and maintaining a safe, positive environment

About the Pupils

The provision supports young people who may have struggled to engage within mainstream education and benefit from a smaller, more personalised and supportive environment.

This role is initially offered on a long-term agency basis, with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract through our 12-week temp-to-perm agreement.
