Job summary

Educato Recruitment are supporting an Alternative Provision in Rochdale with a Learning Support Assistant role. You will work to engage pupils, support their learning and personal development, and help with behavioural and attendance challenges.

No formal teaching qualification is required. This long-term agency position offers progression to a permanent contract after 12 weeks, with dedicated Educato consultant support and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Past experience in education is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience supporting SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs is helpful.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and learning activities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
• Help pupils stay focused and engaged
• Support pupils with academic and personal development
• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Support safeguarding and maintain a safe learning environment
• Assist with interventions and individual learning activities
• Collaborate with teachers and other support staff
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour
