Job summary

IRIS Software Group seeks an experienced education payroll professional to influence the future of Every Payroll for schools and trusts across the UK. You will translate payroll rules into tangible system enhancements and work with product and engineering teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.

You will be the voice of the customer, guiding pension submissions and legislative changes while helping colleagues understand education payroll processes and pay scales.

Qualifications

• End-to-end UK education payroll experience.
• Payroll processing for Local Authority schools, MATs, or SATs.
• Knowledge of TPS and LGPS.
• Pension submissions and reporting (MDC, MCR, iConnect, Civica UPM, WYPF).
• Experience with education payroll software (Every Payroll, iTrent, Cintra).
• Ability to interpret payroll outputs and resolve queries.
• Up-to-date with legislation changes in education payroll.

Responsibilities

• Influence and shape future product enhancements using education payroll expertise.
• Translate payroll, pension and legislative requirements into system improvements.
• Review payroll calculations, pension submissions and statutory outputs for accuracy.
• Support design, testing and rollout of new functionality.
• Provide expert guidance on education payroll processes and pay scales.
• Explain requirements to development teams and answer payroll questions.
• Troubleshoot complex payroll and pension issues and identify long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to improve user experience.
• Identify opportunities for automation and self-service improvements.
