Job summary

SENse Learning in the United Kingdom is seeking dedicated Education Mentors to provide one-to-one learning support for SEND learners in homes and community settings. Join us as an Education Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Mentor with flexible schedules.

We offer ongoing interviews, rolling recruitment, and the chance to make a real difference while working in a supportive, mission-driven team that values bespoke, holistic education for every child.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
• Background in roles such as Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Teaching Assistant (TA), Youth Worker, or similar.
• Ability to work in a child-centred, holistic way.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced significant challenges in previous education settings.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings, delivering creative and interest-based activities.
• Support the development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies to support a wide range of needs.
• Understand the importance of emotional regulation and model/encourage it.
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support.
