Job summary

Unity Schools Partnership is seeking an IT Technician to support our schools across Sudbury and the surrounding areas. You will help teachers and pupils by ensuring reliable IT equipment, software, and networks, and travel between sites as part of the hub.

Qualifications

  • Patience, diplomacy and good communication skills in a learning environment.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware and software used in schools.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to explain problems clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Patient and methodical approach.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Awareness of health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve IT issues reported through the service desk.
  • Assist in maintaining the school's network.
  • Install and upgrade software and applications.
  • Provide technical support for teachers and pupils.
  • Run diagnostics and maintain hardware peripherals.
  • Ensure systems are safe and compliant with child protection.
  • Train teachers and students.
