Job summary

Bright Star Talent is recruiting an IT Technician to support a secondary provision in Newport, Isle of Wight. This role focuses on ensuring staff and pupils have reliable IT systems and digital learning resources for everyday teaching and learning.

You will troubleshoot issues, set up and maintain devices, support access to online platforms, and manage user accounts within a safeguarding-conscious education environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software and networks.
• Clear communication and a patient, approachable manner.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safe use of technology in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day technical support to staff and pupils.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network and connectivity issues.
• Set up, maintain and update computers, laptops and other IT equipment.
• Support access to online learning platforms and classroom technology.
• Assist with user accounts, passwords and access permissions.
• Keep accurate records of equipment and technical issues.
• Follow school procedures for data protection, online safety and secure use of IT systems.
