Job summary

Rochdale Council in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced education professional to become the education voice within our Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT). You will ensure that educational experiences, outcomes and vulnerabilities are considered alongside safeguarding concerns.

Qualifications

Experience working with vulnerable children and families within education or safeguarding services.
Understanding child protection processes and multi-agency working.
Ability to build strong relationships and influence professionals across agencies.
Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Passionate about improving outcomes for children with a social worker.

Responsibilities

Represent education within multi-agency child protection activity.
Ensure educational needs and outcomes are central to safeguarding discussions.
Analyse information relating to attendance, exclusions and school engagement to identify safeguarding risks.
Work closely with schools, social care, police and health partners to strengthen information sharing.
Provide professional advice, challenge and support to improve safeguarding practice.
Contribute to the implementation of the Families First Partnership reforms and strengthen the role of education within child protection arrangements.
