Job summary

Rutland County Council is seeking an experienced Education Safeguarding Adviser to the Virtual School to support the expanded responsibilities of the Virtual School and the Families First for Children reforms, SEND reforms and multi‑agency safeguarding arrangements.

Qualifications

• We are looking for an experienced education professional with a strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, attendance and SEND.
• Substantial experience in education, children's services or related fields and ability to operate in multi‑agency environments.
• Ability to provide professional advice and challenge with strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior educational safeguarding expertise across Rutland's partnership landscape.
• Represent education within multi‑agency safeguarding arrangements (MACPT) and lead educational insight.
• Support extended duties of the Virtual School and promote educational involvement in Families First reforms.
• Analyse performance data to identify trends and drive improvements in outcomes for children and families.
