We have an opportunity for an Account Manager to join our well-established team, taking the lead on a fast-paced and dynamic client account. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of working from home, our Southend studio, and regular weekly visits to the client’s head office in Welwyn Garden City.

Role overview:

You will be the day-to-day lead and escalation point for internal and external teams for a fast-paced and dynamic client, developing and managing relationships and the overall effectiveness of the JPG service model.

You will work with all stakeholders to deliver to a set of best working practices that ensure timely and accurate delivery of all services to this client and ensure all expectations are met, alongside supporting the development of the account with the Head of Client Services, to evolve our service provision.

The Project Management team (home-based across multiple locations) will fall under your remit to manage from an HR, workload, and personal development perspective, providing support and guidance at a day-to-day level. Recruitment and onboarding of new team members will be managed by you with input from the Head of Client Services.

The role will also include some holiday cover for other Account Managers, providing exposure to other areas of the business.

The role is based in the UK, with hybrid working from home, Southend studio, and clients' head office (Welwyn Garden City), determined by workload, projects, and client meetings, with a minimum of 1 day per week at the client’s head office.

Key areas of responsibility:

Responsible for delivering best-in-class client services and account management to support JPG packaging graphics services.

The role will provide a day-to-day point of escalation for the client and hold line management responsibilities for JPG Project Managers.

Delivering project manager coverage for holidays, sickness, peak periods, and new category allocations.

Focus on maintaining and developing the existing client relationship, supporting the Head of Client Services with growth through new services or strategic initiatives.

Breakdown of responsibilities:
  • Provide the primary day-to-day contact and escalation point for all Client and JPG account contacts, internal and external.
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships to establish, deliver, and evolve the JPG service model.
  • Direct line management and support for the JPG Project Managers and other client-facing JPG teams, managing roles, responsibilities, workload, and development.
  • Balance workload across client categories, identify high-profile or at-risk projects, and manage these projects personally or with JPG Project Managers to ensure successful delivery. Support during peak seasons and holidays.
  • Work with client category stakeholders, Tesco design team, and JPG Project Managers to ensure workload projections are updated and reported weekly.
  • Coordinate with JPG Production and Project Management teams to prioritize workloads for successful delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure all documentation and systems are used as per agreed processes, providing clear briefing information and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Head of Client Services via one-to-one meetings.
  • Manage project review meetings with stakeholders, following discussions with the Head of Client Services.
  • Handle weekly and monthly reporting for the client and provide quarterly review data.
  • Manage monthly financial checks and invoicing.
  • Support other Account Managers during holidays and peak periods.
  • Gain a basic understanding of the Head of Client Services responsibilities for this client to ensure coverage in their absence.
  • Qualifications and skills include:

    • Exceptional client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with clear, concise communication at all levels.
    • Strong project management background, particularly in retail packaging artwork and fast-paced delivery environments.
    • Proven success working under pressure with high-quality output and attention to detail.
    • At least one year of experience leading and motivating teams.
    • Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing workload across multiple projects.
    • Calm and decisive under pressure, with effective decision-making skills.
    • Attributes: tenacity, positivity, adaptability, confidence, and determination.
