Salary: £20,000 – £27,000 FTE (dependent on experience, pro rata)
Are you an organised, friendly, and proactive individual with a passion for working in an educational environment? We are seeking a welcoming and efficient School Receptionist to join a busy secondary school office in Bedford.
About the Role:
As the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors, the receptionist plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school. You will manage the front desk, handle and email enquiries, support with administrative tasks, and ensure the reception area is warm, professional, and well-organised.
Key Responsibilities:
Greeting and assisting all visitors in line with safeguarding procedures
Answering incoming calls and directing them appropriately
Managing student attendance and late arrivals
Supporting administrative tasks including mail distribution, data entry, and filing
Liaising with staff and external agencies as required
What We’re Looking For:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident using Microsoft Office and school MIS systems (training can be provided)
Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask effectively
A positive attitude and a strong sense of professionalism
