Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for Behaviour Mentors in schools across Leicestershire for day-to-day and long-term supply.
We are currently working in partnership with a specialist provision in Leicester for secondary-aged pupils with a range of needs including Social Emotional and Mental Health issues (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and learning difficulties who have struggled to settle into a mainstream setting.
Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Leicestershire including Leicester, Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Hinckley, and Loughborough. As a Teaching Assistant working with Hays, you will have the opportunity to work in schools local to you whilst maintaining control of your work-life balance.
Your new role
In your new job as a Behaviour Mentor, you'll make a real and positive impact on the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences, and personalities that make every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and act as a positive role model to vulnerable young people. We are seeking people who thrive in challenging situations and are passionate about supporting children and young people to develop key life skills.
What you need to succeed
To succeed in your new job, you’ll have experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally in an educational setting or as a mentor/coach. You’re someone who thrives in challenging environments and enjoys adapting to new situations. You’ll have supported young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Most importantly, you’ll be confident stepping into a new school and ready to support pupils with a range of needs.
