Job summary

W Talent is partnering with a rapidly growing renewable energy organisation in Exeter to recruit an EC&I Technician. The role focuses on maintaining instrumentation and control systems across the site, with emphasis on safe, efficient operation and ongoing improvements.

You will diagnose faults, manage calibration programmes, and coordinate contractors to ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work. The role offers development in a challenging, modern industrial setting within a climate-positive

Qualifications

• Experience in Control & Instrumentation engineering within a process industry, power generation facility or similar industrial environment.
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Experience working with DCS and/or SCADA systems.
• Relevant technical qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities within an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
• Manage calibration programmes and maintain accurate calibration records.
• Work confidently with instrument loop drawings, schematics and P&IDs.
• Conduct plant and safety inspections.
• Support the supervision and coordination of contractors on site.
• Maintain accurate records within the CMMS.
• Assist with monitoring and reporting on critical plant assets.
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure Safe Systems of Work are followed at all times.
• Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams to deliver performance targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability, safety and environmental performance.
