The Role:

We are seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor for our power division. Your role will support environmental excellence and foster innovation for sustainable growth. You will advise during the design, construction, and reinstatement phases of projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote environmental safeguarding. Excellent communication skills will be essential as you collaborate with colleagues, clients, and regulators.

Key Activities:
  1. Conduct environmental assessments and develop plans aligned with the environmental management system.
  2. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and environmental protection standards.
  3. Support the collection and analysis of environmental data.
  4. Monitor, analyze, and report on environmental performance.
  5. Perform inspections and audits in accordance with ISO 14001, permits, and legislation, documenting non-conformances and improvement actions.
  6. Assist operational teams with incident management and promote best environmental practices.
  7. Report incidents and near misses, categorize them, and implement corrective actions.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Degree in an environmental discipline or relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation in civil engineering and utilities sectors, with experience managing risks.
  • Experience in construction, preferably utilities.
  • Ability to prepare environmental plans and reports, and interpret data effectively.
  • Experience with permits, regulators, and ensuring onsite compliance.
  • Proven ability to advise on risk mitigation and legal compliance.
  • Passion for the environment and a drive for innovation and improvement.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required for site visits.
