Job description

We have an exciting development opportunity as a secondment until September 2025 within the Patient Access Support Services Team. The role involves managing and supporting the Medical Records Team at Queensway BP and the Reception and Onsite Teams at PRH.

Main duties of the job

We expect the successful applicant to work closely with the Support Services Manager for Reception and Admissions at RSH.

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operational performance of the Teams, including managing HR issues such as sickness, absence, appraisals, performance, conduct, training (including statutory training), and health and safety.
  • Ensure all areas are adequately resourced daily, reorganizing work as necessary to cover holidays and sickness, and managing backlog by redistributing staff time for efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure all staff receive required training and that new starters are fully inducted.
  • Approve and sign off annual leave requests.
  • Monitor sickness absence, ensure proper documentation, and undertake reviews with staff according to Trust policies.
  • Contribute to and monitor budgets, managing resources efficiently to deliver high-quality services within budget.
  • Implement, adapt, and improve operational information systems, establishing systems for managing medical records, patient bookings, and clinic cashing.
