Job description

We have an exciting development opportunity as a secondment until September 2025 within the Patient Access Support Services Team. The role involves managing and supporting the Medical Records Team at Queensway BP and the Reception and Onsite Teams at PRH.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant is expected to work closely with the Support Services Manager for Reception and Admissions at RSH.

  1. Ensure the smooth day-to-day operational performance of the Teams, managing HR issues such as sickness, absence, appraisal, performance, conduct, training (including statutory training), and health and safety.
  2. Ensure all areas are adequately resourced daily. Reorganize work as needed to cover holidays and sickness, and manage backlog by redistributing staff time to maintain effective service.
  3. Ensure all staff receive necessary training and that new starters are fully inducted.
  4. Approve and sign off on annual leave requests.
  5. Monitor sickness absence, ensure proper documentation, and conduct sickness reviews in line with Trust Policies.
  6. Contribute to and monitor budgets for the service, managing resources efficiently to deliver high-quality services within the budget.
  7. Introduce, adapt, and improve operational information systems, establishing systems for the management of medical records, patient bookings, and clinic cashing.
