Job summary

Ecton Village Primary Academy is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join the EYFS team. The role is part-time (up to 16 hours) during term time, with flexible patterns of five afternoons or two full days per week. You will support learning and development under EYFS guidelines and work closely with families to nurture children's growth.

Please hold a DfE-recognised EYFS qualification and Level 2 English/Maths; First Aid is desirable. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Qualification recognised by DfE for EYFS staff ratios.
• Level 2 or above in English and Mathematics.
• Experience of working with young children.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Paediatric first aid training or willing to complete.
• Read Write Inc, Kinetic Letters and White Rose Maths knowledge desirable.
• Completion of DfE Teacher Assistant Induction Programme desirable.

NJC Scale Point 3 to 4 (£25,614 to £26,016 FTE)

Actual Salary (up to £9326 - £9472)

Please note: To meet EYFS statutory staffing requirements, applicants must hold a DfE-recognised Early Years qualification that can be counted within EYFS staff ratios and a level 2 in English. Applications from candidates without an eligible qualification cannot be considered.

Are you passionate about giving children the very best start to their education? Ecton Village Primary Academy, part of Hatton Academies Trust, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated EYFS team.

This role offers an excellent degree of flexibility and would suit candidates seeking a working pattern that fits around other commitments. We are open to applications from individuals who can work either:

Five afternoons per week, or, Two full days per week

The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate and the academy to meet the needs of the provision.

About the Role

Working alongside our experienced Early Years team, you will support children's learning, development and wellbeing within our EYFS environment. You will help create a nurturing, engaging and inclusive setting where every child can thrive, supporting both individual pupils and small groups in their learning and development.

The successful candidate will:

1. Support learning through play and structured activities
2. Assist in observing, recording and assessing children's progress
3. Help maintain an engaging indoor and outdoor learning environment
4. Promote children's independence, confidence and social development
5. Work closely with colleagues and families to support children's learning journey
6. Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare

Essential Qualifications and Experience

A key requirement of this role is that applicants must hold a qualification that is recognised by the Department for Education as full and relevant for inclusion in EYFS staff:child ratios.

Please only apply if you hold an appropriate Early Years qualification (Level 2 or above) that meets this requirement.

You will also need:

1. Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
2. Experience of working with young children
3. Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
4. A warm, positive and child-centred approach
5. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
6. Paediatric first aid training or willing to complete this.
