Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd seeks a caring Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in LS26 for breakfast club duties and morning support. The role runs 7:30am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday during term time.

You'll support young children's development under the EYFS framework, maintain a safe environment, and work closely with parents and staff. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required, with training provided.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential).
  • Previous experience in an Early Years setting.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Breakfast Club from 7:30am and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
  • Assist with planned activities and free-flow play.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social development.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Support children's personal care needs where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.

Location: LS26 Hours: 7:30am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday Contract:Term Time Only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Early Years Teaching Assistant - Breakfast Club, Pre-school and Reception

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and qualified Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive early years setting in a primary school inLS26.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children's development and creating a warm, engaging environment during the start of their school day. The successful candidate will play a key role in running the Breakfast Club before supporting children within the Early Years provision throughout the morning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising and engaging children attending Breakfast Club from 7:30am.
  • Providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children.
  • Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Assisting with planned activities and free-flow play opportunities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social development.
  • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Supporting children's personal care needs where required.
  • Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential).
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
