Hays Recruitment is proud to support a Warrington-based (WA4) single-form entry primary school that is at the heart of its local community. They are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term, full-time temporary contract that will last the rest of the academic year. This role is based within the reception class and will commence on 22/04/2025.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will join an extremely supportive and welcoming team of professionals. You will work alongside the reception class teacher and provide a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils by building strong, constructive relationships, aiding in behaviour management, and utilising a variety of learning equipment. You will support the whole class, tailoring your approach to meet individual attainment and physical needs, and take a pupil-centred approach to education. You will deliver phonics sessions/interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis and implement positive behaviour strategies. The pupils in this class are very loving, but some can be disruptive and disengaged at times. To address this, you will use positive behaviour reinforcement, DOJO, and brain breaks to maintain focus and support learning outcomes.
