Job summary

Monarch Education is assisting a welcoming primary school near Tewkesbury in recruiting an Early Years Teaching Assistant. The role runs 08:30–15:30, term-time only, supporting EYFS children through play-based and teacher-led activities to boost confidence and foundational skills.

The successful candidate will work with an experienced Early Years team, bringing patience, excellent communication, and a nurturing approach to help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

• Full-time, term-time only position working 08:30 – 15:30
• Level 3
• Supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to access learning through play-based and adult-led activities
• Supporting children’s communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and social development
• Assisting with indoor and outdoor learning activities that encourage exploration
• Providing targeted support to individual children and small groups where required
• Helping children develop positive friendships, confidence, and emotional resilience
• Supporting pupils with personal care needs where appropriate
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where every child can flourish

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young children within an Early Years, nursery, preschool, or primary school setting is desirable
• An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is advantageous
• A patient, caring, and nurturing approach to supporting young learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to engage children through creative and play-based learning opportunities
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s early development and wellbeing
