Job summary

Monarch Education is assisting a welcoming primary school near Tewkesbury in recruiting an Early Years Teaching Assistant. The role runs 08:30–15:30, term-time only, supporting EYFS children through play-based and teacher-led activities to boost confidence and foundational skills.

The successful candidate will work with an experienced Early Years team, bringing patience, excellent communication, and a nurturing approach to help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Early Years setting is desirable.
• EYFS framework understanding advantageous.
• Patience, caring and nurturing approach to supporting young learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage children through play-based learning opportunities.
• Strong teamwork with teaching staff.
• Commitment to inclusive environment for all children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children.

Responsibilities

• Support children in EYFS to access learning through play-based and adult-led activities.
• Assist with communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and social development.
• Support indoor and outdoor learning activities that encourage exploration.
• Provide targeted support to individual children and small groups.
• Help children develop confidence, friendships, and emotional resilience.
• Support pupils with personal care needs where appropriate.
• Create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
