Job summary

Teach Now Limited is hiring an Early Years Practitioner to join the Nursery team in Barnet, North London. The role supports delivery of play-based learning in a nurturing setting, working with the teacher to help each child progress across the EYFS curriculum.

The position is full-time, term-time, long-term and temporary, with a normal school day. Pay ranges from £93 to £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience, starting October 2026 or sooner subject to checks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in Nursery or Early Years settings.
• Understanding of EYFS and learning through play.
• Warm, patient approach with initiative to stay actively involved.
• Level 2/3 Early Years/Childcare qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up inviting indoor and outdoor continuous provision.
• Support communication, early literacy and number skills through stories, songs and play.
• Lead messy play, sensory exploration and creative activities.
• Encourage friendships, confidence, independence and positive routines.
• Support mealtimes, transitions, emotional regulation and personal care where required.
• Observe children’s progress and share feedback with the teacher or room leader.
• Provide additional support for emerging speech, language, developmental or SEN needs.
