Job summary

Camden Council is seeking an Early Years Practitioner (EYP) in Camden, London. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time, with a pay rate of 16.00 per hour PAYE. Start ASAP / September 2026, requiring a Level 2 Childcare/Early Years qualification and nursery experience.

The successful applicant will join an established early years team, support children's learning and development, and help create a safe, inclusive environment for growth and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Childcare/Early Years qualification.
• Experience in nursery, children's centre, early years, childcare or education setting.
• Good understanding of children's learning and development.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Ability to engage positively with children and respond to individual needs.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday during term time.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care, supervision and support to children in an early years setting.
• Support children's learning through structured activities and play-based learning.
• Create a safe, welcoming, stimulating and inclusive environment.
• Observe and record children's development and share progress updates.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, carers and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times.
