Job summary

Woodside CofE Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years practitioner to work with the class teacher and EYFS team to deliver high-quality education and care for young children. You will help create a language-rich environment, support communication and early literacy/mathematics, and build secure relationships to foster confidence and wellbeing.

The role includes core hours 8:15am–3:15pm, Mon–Fri, with potential paid wraparound hours 7:30am–8:30am and 3:00pm–5:30pm; pattern to be

Qualifications

• Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• Has recent experience in an EYFS setting.
• Understands child development and the statutory EYFS framework.
• Warm, patient and skilled at building secure relationships with young children.
• Can support communication, language, early literacy and early mathematics.
• Committed to inclusion and supporting children with additional needs.
• Works well with parents, carers and colleagues.
• Committed to safeguarding, professional learning and high expectations.
• Flexible and willing to support wraparound care where agreed.

Job description

The role

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to deliver high-quality education and care. They will help to create an engaging, inclusive and language-rich environment in which children feel safe, develop confidence and thrive.

The core working hours are 8:15am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday. We are particularly interested in applicants who are also willing to undertake additional paid hours within our wraparound provision, operating from 7:30am to 8:30am and 3:00pm to 5:30pm. The precise pattern of any additional hours will be agreed separately.

• holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
• has recent experience of working effectively within an EYFS setting
• understands child development and the statutory EYFS framework
